I mean the aspiration sort. What happens inside when a thing arises and gives the sensation of wanting to take flight, and we call it a dream. Is it any different than a desire? Is it possibly different than a desire but not necessarily? If you have a dream, do you have to have a desire of some kind underpinning it? Like, I have a dream to grow a garden, so in a sense I want to grow a garden, but I don’t really want to grow a garden, I just have a dream to do it because I want to be a person who has a garden, I want to have a garden to look at, I want to have a yard that captures carbon and feels like a fairy tale. But then also there’s the case of having a dream to grow a garden and simply also desiring to grow a garden. And what’s happening in our bodies when there’s a feeling that goes along with a dreaming? What’s the physiology of that? A turtle surfaces from its nest and makes for the water. Is the material and movement that make that possible similar at all to the material and movement in us that we label “dream”?
