There’s a way the summer evening light makes me taste the wind in my face when we’d drive the Jeep with the top down on Tom Short road probably pretending we were far from Gatehouse Ct but I think also happy where we were and you know maybe we really were far from where we were in a way in a way. I hear a dryer rumbling now, holding a load that’s different than the one piled next to me on the sofa, which is different than the one I folded and mostly put away earlier today. Where are your loads right now, I wonder? In the dryer? On your new sofa? Maybe they’re unseeable. Hard to know where those are except when your body tells you: over here! My lower back, specifically my tailbone, is a little sore which means my tailbone is taking up some undefined space in my brain. Anatomies! Have I ever told you about my tailbone? Probably not because it’s my own little secret, but I think I hurt it after Scarlett was born. I was doing too many burpees and roll-to-stands before I’d really rebuilt my core strength, and also was carrying a *load* of stress at the time that I wanted to process through intense sweating. I took a break and it was fine but sometimes still it can get irritated. Then a person wonders, are my fingers tingly? Is that “just” in my head? Do I have spine/disc/nerve problems? Will I? And oh well, here we are! Whatever I have, I’ll have a good time if I can help it. Loads and loads and loads but hey baby sister the top’s down and we’re flying.
